An artist for over 40 years, my studio is in Gateshead, northeast England. I am part of the Orbis Community of Creatives as a studio member.
I am continuously building a process to express my understanding of my self and my place(s). It gives me a vehicle to explore why it is that certain places and certain works by artists have such an emotional and everlasting impact.
This means all my work is essentially a continuously extending autobiographical thread.
My current work (from 2020) starts with a response to a location or a painting by another artist that I have come to know.

As the work emerges my focus turns more towards my response, reflection, and the process itself. The challenge is how to articulate and record this experience, this personal journey with an ever moving awareness of self and of place, whilst primarily using three physical elements of colour, light and surface.
